The University of Zakho organized a workshop titled "Artificial Intelligence in Education"

In the Education Sector" on Monday, May 12, 2025, with the attendance of several distinguished figures, including Asst. Prof. Dr. Jasim Mohammed Abdo, Vice President of the University for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies; Dr. Dildar Haidar Ahmed, Dean of the College of Administration and Economics; Mr. Skaifan Ibrahim Maho, Director of Quality Assurance and Educational Supervisor; and Mr. Mahdi Salih Yaqoob, Director of Educational Training and Development. The event was also attended by a number of supervisors, school principals, university professors, computer experts, the Center for Educational Training and Academic Development, and the Directorate of Quality Assurance and Curriculum Development at the University of Zakho.

 

The workshop was held under the supervision of Asst. Prof. Dr. Kanaan Ramadan Ahmed, Director of the Directorate of Quality Assurance and Curriculum Development, and in coordination with Ms. Shler Mustafa Mohammed, Director of the Center for Educational Training and Academic Development at Zakho Directorate of Education. The workshop was delivered by Asst. Prof. Dr. Masoud Mohammed Hassan.

 

The workshop shed light on the importance of artificial intelligence in supporting and enriching the educational process in a way that aligns with the needs of the local community. It included a comprehensive introduction to AI concepts, its historical background, and future directions for its application in the field of education.

 

The workshop also presented a variety of supportive tools that can enhance modern teaching methods, in addition to discussing practical proposals for the development of the educational system to keep pace with global advancements in the field of education.

 

This workshop comes as part of the University of Zakho’s ongoing commitment to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals—particularly those related to quality education, embracing modern technologies, and strengthening the university’s impact in serving the local community.
